LUXURY TRAVEL DESTINATION MYKONOS GREECE TRAVEL TIPS AND TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY
— A throwback to my Mykonos trip | Greece Travel Photography | Travel Tips —
This island had a high ranking on my Travel bucket list and now I finally got to experience it. The place where jetsetters from around the world drop anchor and sip luxury cocktails while overlooking glistening blue waters… I’m talking about: Mykonos! This beautiful island offers amazing beaches, great food, famous beach clubs with stunning views over the Aegean sea and a super photogenic picturesque old town.
My husband and I stayed for a week and visited two gorgeous hotels. The first days were spent at the lovely San Giorgio Hotel. A bohemian boutique hotel with a laid back vibe and a natural interior, where hammocks are swaying in the wind and life goes in slow motion on easy lounge beats. The hotel is situated between Paraga Beach and Paradise Beach, which is famous for its parties. Which also brings up a little minus: the Paradise Club is located nearby so don’t expect to hear nothing else but crickets at night ;).
The second half of our vacation we spent in Myconian Utopia Hotel, a beautiful modern hotel with a dito interior design. This hotel carries out a more luxury concept but also feels slightly more formal than San Giorgio. It’s situated at the highest point above Elia Beach, so the view here is amazing! During daytime we’ve enjoyed the view from the stunning infinity pool, had couples massages at the amazing Spa and walked all the way down to Elia Beach. At night we wined and dined like a celebrity. The staff here makes sure you have everything you desire.
The combination of the laid-back San Giorgio and the luxurious Myconian Utopia was the perfect recipe for this slow paced vacation. We’ve enjoyed the great food (fresh fish!) on the island, wandered through the little streets of Mykonos town, shopped in cute little boutiques and gazed at the Aegean sea with a cocktail in our hands. We loved it!
If you are also planning on visiting Mykonos, here are some of my travel tips:
. Restaurant Nautilus in Mykonos Town
. Tasos Taverna at Paraga Beach
. Swimming at Elia Beach
. Psarou Beach to spot luxury yachts and celebrity jetsetters
. The entire cocktail list at San Giorgio and Myconian Utopia
. And last but not least: Mykonos Town with its maze of white cobbled streets decorated by bright fuchsia bougainvillea.
Dear Mykonos, what an amazing island you are. I’ll be looking at the beautiful pictures I took of you. Until we meet again.
Love,
Danique
